Our Foundation

In 2010 the Muskegon Environmental Research & Education Society (MERES) looked around and could not find a Hall of Fame for those people and organizations that had been long time supporters of the environment. Thus was born the Michigan Environmental Hall of Fame.

Our Mission

Its purpose is to recognize people and organizations, both locally and on a statewide basis, that have made significant contributions to our environment over the years. We recognize individuals who are making contributions each day and those who have passed on after making their contribution. We also like to recognize non-profit organizations that are dedicated to preserving our environment. We also select an environmental project that has made significant gains in changing the environment for the good of us all.Each year at our induction ceremony we have a speaker that addresses some aspect of our environment.
